Discussion in Yerevan on "The legitimacy of the formation of the NKR and the illegality of Azerbaijan's territorial claims"

On November 19, 2022, at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Artsakh in the Republic of Armenia, at the initiative of a group of representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, a discussion was held on the topic "The legitimacy of the formation of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic and the illegality of the territorial claims of the Republic of Azerbaijan against it."

The purpose of organizing the discussion was to analyze numerous legal documents relating to the Karabakh problem, convincingly proving that the formation of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic is legal, and Azerbaijan's territorial claims to Artsakh are deprived of a legal basis. It was noted that these arguments should be presented at all international platforms.

Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, co-chairman of the Armenian Association of Political Scientists Alexander Manasyan and constitutional law expert Vardan Poghosyan delivered keynote speeches.

Chairman of the Board of the Armenian Association of Political Scientists Mihran Shahzadeyan made an analysis of the legal issues of the Karabakh conflict.

At the end of the meeting, Permanent Representative of Artsakh to the RA Sergey Ghazaryan thanked the organizers of the meeting for a meaningful and effective discussion, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives.
